Art Nouveau Ewer Made Of Crystalline Enamel, From The Sarreguemines Factory
This elegant ewer in crystalline glazes is a high-quality piece produced by the Sarreguemines Pottery during the Art Nouveau period. Its decoration and material attest to the factory’s expertise in the field of decorative earthenware.
It bears a Sarreguemines hallmark—though somewhat difficult to read—on the underside of the base, along with the form number 234 and the letter Y, or associated workshop letters
The brass ring bears the circumferential inscription “MADE IN FRANCE”, engraved with a wheel—a marking typically used on pieces produced for the Anglo-Saxon market
