Neo-gothic-style Wall-mounted Bedside Holy Water Font (restoration Period / Troubadour Style)

An authentic and magnificent Neo-Gothic-style (Restoration period / Troubadour style) bronze wall-mounted bedside holy water font, dating from the second half of the 19th century.

A very beautiful sculpted relief depicting Christ carrying his cross on the road to Calvary, sheltered beneath cathedral-inspired architecture (ribbed vaults, pinnacles, and Gothic arches).

The lower basin features its original hinged lid, adorned with a rosette in relief. Complete wall-mounting system on the back.

A rare feature: The reverse side retains its original red-tinted glass panel, simulating the effect of a stained-glass window illuminated from behind when viewed from the front.

Condition: Superb overall condition.

The patina is superb and the red glass is perfect, with no cracks or pitting (rare for an object of this period). No foundry hallmark.
