Raymond Besse (1899–1969) was a French painter born in Niort who moved to Paris in 1916. He exhibited for the first time at the Salon des Indépendants in 1923 and subsequently participated regularly in the Salon d'Automne. He often depicted the northern suburbs of Paris—Saint-Ouen, Clichy, and Montmartre.
