An interesting Baoulé gong (lawle), richly carved and mounted on a pedestal.
On the hammer side, the cloth used to dampen the impact of the wood is still present, along with a carved head likely depicting an ancestor, and in the middle of the handle, another carved figure that appears to be singing or whistling.
Beautiful patina.
