Pierre Georges Jeanniot (1848-1934), painter and illustrator. Friend of Édouard Manet, Pierre Puvis de Chavannes, Jean-Louis Forain, Paul César Helleu, but especially of Édgar Degas (whose influence is evident here), whom he revered as a master and with whom he shared much time at his family home in Diénay. Present in numerous museums, including the Orsay Museum. Beautiful charcoal or graphite drawing with chalk or white pastel highlights, depicting an elegant Belle Époque chair. Signed lower left.
