A. G. Decamps (attributed To) : "horse And Dogs At Rest"

French School, circa 1840, attributed to Alexandre Gabriel Decamps (1803–1860) : "Horse and dogs at rest", oil on canvas, 38 × 46 cm, mounted in a beautiful early 19th-century gilded frame with spandrels, 54 ×61 cm.
Tension strips and a few pieces on the back from restorations that are invisiblefrom the front; slight marks from the stretcher.
In the absence of a visible signature, I can only attribute this splendid painting, whose rich and generous brushwork conveys a precision that is not without poetry.
Details reveal themselves as you look at it, such as the lighton the back of the first dog, the rider riding off to the left, or the striped blanket…
