Portuguese Arraiolos Rug – 20th Century, 320x240 Cm

An elegant Portuguese rug known as an Arraiolos rug, made during the 20th century, featuring a richly detailed floral and ornamental design.

The rug is distinguished by its deep burgundy background, entirely enlivened by a scattering of small polychrome floral and plant motifs. The center features a large floral medallion with rounded, symmetrical shapes, surrounded by foliage and delicate floral motifs.

The entire field is punctuated by numerous bouquets, stylized flowers, leaves, and arabesques, in a harmonious palette of cream, almond green, beige, powder pink, and touches of yellow, creating a particularly balanced and decorative design.

A wide border frames the composition. It is adorned with a series of stylized floral motifs that echo the colors of the field, elegantly highlighting the rug as a whole.

With its dense design, beautiful color palette, and symmetrical composition, this rug is a particularly interesting decorative piece, typical of the Arraiolos rug tradition.

Condition : Good overall condition. Please note, however, some wool loss in two areas—visible in the last two photos—as well as two faint yellow stains.
