SFBJ Mechanical Walking Doll – UNIS France 149 – Mold 301 – Circa 1920–1930
Charming French doll from the SFBJ (Société Française de Fabrication de Bébés et Jouets), with a bisque head, bearing the following engraved mark on the nape of the neck:
“71 – UNIS FRANCE – 149 – 301”
She stands 40 cm tall.
She has a very pretty face with sleepy brown eyes, long painted eyelashes, finely drawn eyebrows, delicately rosy cheeks, and a slightly parted mouth revealing her teeth.
The doll features an interesting key-wound walking mechanism that is still in working order. The shoes are fitted with metal wheels that allow the doll to move.
One of the soles bears the marking:
“BREVETÉ 395249 – S.G.D.G.”
The internal mechanism is intact and in working order.
She is presented with long brown hair and an elegant vintage dress in shades of dusty pink, embellished with lace and ribbons.
In very good condition.
The bisque head shows no cracks or apparent restoration. Some signs of use and minor wear are visible on the body, consistent with the doll’s age.
A charming collectible doll, particularly notable for its small size (40 cm) and its walking mechanism, which is still in working order.
