18th-century Regency-style Broken Duchess Chair In Waxed Beech
A broken Regency-style duchess chair with a flat backrest, known as “à la Reine,” caned with waxed beech, 18th century. Its gendarme-hat-shaped backrest features cuffed armrests resting on whip-shaped armrests; its comfortable seat rests on curved legs decorated with flowers and foliage.
The traditional upholstery has been restored and reupholstered in a luminous damask featuring stylized gold flowers and foliage on a burgundy background with subtle shades.
In good condition, with standard restoration and maintenance work, particularly on the base, the rear footrest, and the seats, which were originally cane-woven
