19th-century Regency-style Armchair In Carved Walnut With Upholstery

Charming Regency-style armchair made in the 19th century from finely carved walnut. This high-quality chair features elegant ornamentation comprising shells, scrollwork, foliage, and geometric motifs, demonstrating the craftsmanship of the cabinetmakers of that era.

The scalloped backrest is topped by a carved shell. The curved armrests rest on richly decorated consoles, while the swirling belt is embellished with a large central shell. The arched legs are joined by an elegant X-shaped brace, lending the piece balance and refinement.

The armchair is upholstered in petit point tapestry featuring a foliage motif in shades of dusty pink, water green, and beige, accented by original seed-head tufting.

The woodwork is in very good condition, with a beautiful antique patina. The upholstery is sound and usable, but shows localized wear on one armrest,visible in the photographs. Restoration of the upholstery may be considered according to the future owner’s preferences, without detracting fromthe piece’s overall charm.
