Pair Of Mercurized Glass Bowls On Stands, 19th Century
Pair of goblets on a pedestal made of mercury-coated glass, dating from the 19th century. Each piece features a flared, tulip-shaped bowl extending down a fluted stem, all resting on a molded circular base. The double-walled silvered effect, characteristic of the “mercury-eglomized glass” technique that was very popular in the 19th century, offers a unique, textured luminosity.
Good condition, warm patina, slight loss of silver plating, traces of painted decoration on one of them, slight variations.
