Mougin Brothers - Large Glazed Stoneware Baluster Vase, 20th Century

Large glazed stoneware baluster vase decorated on its body in three sections. The figures depicted are: a sower, a farmer, and a baker. The form is typical of the Art Deco aesthetic.

The brothers Joseph (1876–1961) and Pierre (1880–1955) Mougin, sons of the industrialist and politician Xavier Mougin, were French ceramicists and sculptors. Both exercised their talents during the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods.
