Brooch-pendant Featuring Symbols Of The Arts - Gautrait For Maison Vever

A beautiful 18-karat gold brooch-pendant that can be converted into a pendant, featuring an openwork design of knotted ribbons, floral garlands, and trophies evoking music, hunting, and needlework.

At the center, an oval medallion in guilloché blue enamel is adorned with a bow, a quiver, and arrows, accented by a border of rose-cut diamonds. The piece is adorned with a diamond and a pearl, likely a fine pearl.

The engraving, the garlands, and the combination of gold, enamel, and diamonds are particularly characteristic of the creations by Léopold Gautrait for the Vever House at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Gautrait is documented as a collaborator of Vever.

The piece bears the eagle’s head hallmark, as well as the master’s hallmark of Ernest Vever, “EV” with an anchor, and the number 195.
