Born in 1935, Claude Jousset is a French landscape painter whose career truly took off in the 1960s.  He participated in his first Salon in 1963. His landscapes quickly became a huge success, and Claude Jousset went on to hold numerous exhibitions in France, as well as in London and Vienna.
He also won First Prize for French Landscape Painters at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1967.
While he painted Paris and snowy scenes extensively, his views of Brittany and Normandy are among his most highly regarded works.
The port of Honfleur (with its famous Vieux Bassin and the La Lieutenance building) is one of the most sought-after subjects on the art market.
