Superb painting by Emile Godchaux. Return from fishing on foot. Very good light treatment, nice atmosphere. Many female figures, with headdresses and hats, carrying loaded baskets. The sky is very bright, tinged with pink at sunset. Period late nineteenth-early twentieth century. Original golden baguette frame. Good condition, Frame dimension: 54.3 x 65.3 cm to report some small gaps in stucco in the frame, retouched with gilding (see photos, not serious).
