Antique Victorian 18k Gold Garnet Scarab Brooch, French 1860s Rose Cut Diamond Ruby Beetle Pin
Antique garnet scarab brooch in 18 karat gold, pearl, and diamond. Naturalistic pin brooch depicting an insect: a beetle. The body is pavé-set with 9 rose-cut diamonds, while its elytra (wing cases) are formed by two cabochon-cut garnets. Two small rubies highlight the insect's eyes. The pin is also adorned with a glass pearl at its tip. Antique brooch, circa 1860, France.
