19th-century Mexican "charro" Spur

This high-quality spur is typically Mexican ,and dates from the 19th century. It is called an “espuela Charra,” meaning a Charro’s spur;
In Mexico, a Charro is a man on horseback—a skilled rider proud of his appearance.
While this term initially applied mainly to horsemen who were keeping kettle (sort of "cow-boys) , by the mid-19th century, the “charreria” trend ” (all things and way of life in relation with the charros) became a source of national pride, displayed through clothing and equipment, even when the person wearing this gear was from the city rather than the countryside.
The stocky bow, typical of Mexican craftsmanship, is made of iron decorated with engravings and a chased silver plate on each side. The iron fastening buttons are present.
The wheel mount is made of finely chiseled iron and is attached to the bow by a rivet.
The wheel is large, made of openwork and chiseled iron (8 cm in diameter)
The craftsmanship of this piece is above average, and we can forgive it for having lost its twin and being “single.”
