General's Full Dress Belt, First Empire.

Artist: Consulat / Premier Empire
Made of rich brown Moroccan leather, richly embroidered with gilded silver thread, featuring a band of laurel leaves framed on each edge by a scalloped border. The belt consists of three sections, each 4.2 cm wide on one side; it ends with a round buckle approximately 5 cm in diameter, made of cast bronze and entirely hand-chiseled to depict a Gorgon’s head in relief. On its outer side, a ring is soldered to accommodate the hook. At the center of the belt, the three sections are joined by two buckles with a design identical to the first; the backs of these buckles are soldered to trapezoidal loops that allow for the attachment of suspension straps.
Sold as is, with silver threads showing scuffing and wear.
