Reliquary, 19th Century.
19th-century reliquary in its original frame.
This small reliquary is typical of that period. It features extensive gilding arranged in a perfectly symmetrical pattern of columns that frame the relics, which are adorned with romantic friezes.
The center panel is original. A watercolor with a mysterious subject matter… a well, a bird, and a violet in the sky.
The relics are reminiscent of southern France: St. Donatus, St. Vincent, and St. Lucy.
In perfect condition with its original frame and glass (unopened).
