"Small Holy Water Font, Nevers, 17th Century"
A 17th-century Nevers faience holy water font. This small font is rare given its size and quality of workmanship. The cherub is the most prominent feature of this piece, with its fan-shaped wings and smiling expression giving it a benevolent tone. The colors are classic: blue and yellow, with touches of orange.
The beautifully crafted holy water container is in good condition, but there is a break between the two halves. It has been crudely repaired, replacing another repair with hooks, of which four holes are visible. Despite this, this small holy water font is a quality piece and possesses all the charm of 17th-century Nevers faience. Dimensions: height 13 cm, width 11 cm.
