Franche-comté Inkwell? - Early 19th Century
Franche-Comté Inkwell? - Early 19th century. Polychrome high-fire earthenware, with four pen holes. One of the two inkwells is new (the one on the left, the ink reservoir). The decoration consists of flowers with foliage painted in the style of the model shown in the reference book, suggesting a Franche-Comté origin, especially since this region produced heart-shaped inkwells (Cirey-lès-Bellevaux). To be confirmed. In good condition, no cracks, no repairs. Only the powder compact shows some peripheral enamel chips (wear). Width 13.5 cm
