The interior is equipped with sliding rods for hanging clothes. The hinged lid is lined with blue velvet
Originally, the right side featured several drawers for storing small garments and accessories. The grooves in the wood on the inside indicate where these drawers once slid
This type of trunk dates from the first half of the 20th century and was primarily intended for use as a cabin trunk on trains and during overseas travel, hence the reference in its English name, “wardrobe steamer trunk”
The visible signs of wear and the weathered brass add to the charm of this antique piece.
