Ngombe Prestige Knife – Democratic Republic of the Congo

The Ngombe are a people from the northwestern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Wide wrought-iron blade, openwork at the top.
The surface is adorned with a symmetrically arranged engraved herringbone pattern.
The wooden handle is extended by a metal band at the neck.
The oval pommel is covered with parchment.
Shows signs of wear and age-related oxidation of the metal.
