Bronze Equestrian Deity India - Khandoba, Deccan? 18th Century Or Earlier.
A small horseman with rounded, fleshy features. Bronze with a patina from use. The horseman was previously reattached and then detached again. This is probably a warrior deity, Khandoba; a manifestation of Shiva primarily in the Deccan region.
The light brown color of the bronze, the fleshy shapes, the wear attesting to a long ritual practice, place this votive figure in the 18th-17th century.
