Beautiful Bronze Candleholder, Square Base, France, Late 17th Century

A very pretty little freestanding candleholder. Made of bronze, with a lovely patina from use and age, it rests on a square base with a high rim. A central cylindrical bulge holds the body in place via a factory-made screw thread. The straight top features a circular opening for wax drainage, set atop a body with beveled sides.
In good condition, though unfortunately not perfect… There is a small chip on the back of the top, visible only from the rear and in my detailed photos… Please look at them carefully—I’m not hiding anything!
French piece dating from the second half of the 17th century, circa 1680.
Dimensions: 14.5 cm H x 11.5 cm.
