Antique Orthodox Icon, Christ Pantocrator, Embossed Brass, Russia Or Greece, 19th Century N

A beautiful religious icon from the Orthodox branch of Christianity. The core is made of wood, covered with a layer of embossed brass that has been nailed in place. Openworked sections are left for Christ’s hands and face, which are hand-painted. Here, it depicts Christ Pantocrator, blessing with his right hand and holding a cruciferous globe in his left hand.
Worn condition. A chip in one corner of the panel, several missing nails, missing hands, some warping and traces of oxidation, and signs of wear from use. Please look closely at my detailed photos—I’m not hiding anything!
Russian or Greek icon, dating from the second half of the 19th century or earlier.
Dimensions: 17 cm x 13 cm x 1.5 cm.
