Antique Solid Silver Ladies’ Belt, Lovers And Cupid, Wedding Present

A stunning late 19th or early 20th-century ladies’ belt made entirely from solid silver, composed of a large buckle and a series of linked shaped panels richly worked in repoussé.

The belt is decorated throughout with wonderfully romantic scenes of courting and embracing lovers, accompanied by winged Cupid figures. These charming images celebrate love, courtship and fidelity, suggesting that the belt may originally have been intended as a bridal or betrothal ornament. The panels are framed by exuberant Rococo-style scrollwork, further enhancing its romantic character.

The silver has been professionally tested and is guaranteed to be solid silver.

The belt can be made smaller, if necessary, by removing one or more of the panels. It could equally be made larger by adding further circular connecting rings.
