Chandelier And Pair Of Wall Sconces Made Of Glass And Gilded Brass

A chandelier and a pair of vintage wall sconces in gilded brass and crystal, typical of the Hollywood Regency style, designed in the late 1960s.

This model is attributed to the work of the famous Italian designer Gaetano Sciolari for the prestigious German manufacturer Palwa (Palme & Walter).

A circular structure in 24-karat gold-plated brass adorned with medallions of thick, domed glass, each individually set within circles.
These medallions are designed like jewels to enhance the refraction of light. The design also features a small matching decorative dome on the upper stem.

The chandelier is accompanied by a pair of 3-light wall sconces behind an 8-medallion structure.

Angelo Gaetano Sciolari (1927–1994) was the founder of Sciolari Lighting and a designer for the Italian manufacturer Stilnovo in the 1950s. It was while working for Stilnovo that Sciolari created his most iconic and famous designs: a series of multi-light chandeliers combining glossy and matte metal, evoking futuristic visions of the dawn of the space age.
His designs were highly sought after throughout the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, notably being imported into the U.S. market by Lightolier and Progress Lighting.
During this same period, his designs featured prominently in popular films and television shows thanks to their luxurious and futuristic aesthetic. He eventually turned his back on the film industry to devote himself to architecture.
