Bronze Bust Of An African Politician By Henri Collomb (1905–1983); Cast By Clémenti

Artist: Henri Collomb (1905-1983)
A lost-wax bronze sculpture with a patina by Henri Collomb* (1915–1983) depicting the head of a Black man, likely an African president from the 1960s or 1970s, indeed, this sculptor is well-documented and received numerous commissions from the French government, and it is likely that a president from the Central African Republic or elsewhere may have commissioned this sculpture from him to decorate his Parisian apartment.
Furthermore, the foundry is Clementi de Meudon, which cast bronzes for Miró, Arman, Alechinsky, Niki de Saint Phalle, Stalhy, Barcelò, and the great Hervé Di Rosa.
Among the government commissions awarded to Henri Collomb are:
"Pointer Dog," on loan to the National Assembly since 1952
"Seated Nude" in wood, on loan since January 11, 1960, to the Economic, Social, and Environmental Council (Paris).
"Saint Theresa," in gilded wood, commissioned from the artist in 1947.
On loan since 1949: Saint-Paul Church (Vitry-sur-Seine).
"Allegorical Figure," 1950, stone, sculpture in the round
Commissioned from the artist in 1950
On loan since July 27, 1950: Meximieux Town Hall.
"Statue of Alphonse Baudin"
1952
(Statue unveiled on June 7, 1953, by Gaston Monnerville, President of the Council of the Republic. It replaces an older bronze statue that disappeared during the Occupation).
Commissioned from the artist in 1952.
On loan since 1953: Nantua Town Hall.
"Bust of Honoré d’Urfé" 1954, stone sculpture.
Commissioned from the artist in 1955.
On loan since 1955: Virieu-le-Grand Town Hall
