An exceptional set of 4 pairs of Sarreguemines earthenware teacups, “Annales” model.

This set, decorated with polychrome depictions of Alsatian figures, was designed by Hansi, the pseudonym of the Alsatian artist Jean-Jacques Waltz, (1873–1951).

The coffee and tea set, like the Hansi tableware set, was offeredfor sale by subscription in 1921 in the magazine *Les Annales littéraires et politiques*, which initiated and promoted the project.

The collection of designs conceived by Hansi and produced by Sarreguemines captures the Alsatian atmosphere.

It consists of 4 cups and 4 saucers.

Dimensions:

Cup: height: 6 cm / 4 different designs.

diameter at the rim: 8 cm.

Saucer: diameter: 15 cm / 3 different designs.

Each piece is stamped on the back and signed “H” inside the design.

The set is in good condition, with a beautiful sheen.

Teacups are rare to find.
