Limoges porcelain tea service, Bernardaud factory, "Les Oiseaux de Buffon" pattern, 24 pieces. Polychrome glazed porcelain with gold highlights, ivory rims decorated with basketwork and birds perched in grisaille landscapes. The motif is taken from the ornithological collection "L'Histoire Naturelle des Oiseaux" by Georges-Louis Leclerc de Buffon, dated 1749. Each piece depicts a different bird, hand-illuminated. The set comprises 12 teacups and 12 saucers. Saucer diameter: 14.8 cm / Cups: 10.2 cm, height: 5 cm, capacity: 19 cl. The set is in excellent condition. The size of the cups also makes them suitable for serving coffee. A very elegant pattern with lovely decoration and beautiful colors!
