Gabriel Argy-Rousseau (1885–1953), “Fougères” glass paste vase, designed in 1925.

Baluster vase with two side handles shaped like stylized ferns, with the decorative motif extending down the lower part of the body. Beautiful pâte de verre with deep shades of cobalt blue, midnight blue, and light blue.

Gabriel Argy-Rousseau was one of the leading French masters of pâte de verre during the Art Deco period. This technique, which involves placing colored glass powders into a mold and then firing them, produces the variations in texture, transparency, and color characteristic of his work.
