Flat-topped Louis XVI-period center desk with rosewood and palisander veneer inlay on all sides
The leg set features Greek meander inlay decoration on the drawer bands, gilded bronze ornamentation such as feet, foliated scrolls, and ribbon-style lock plates.
The desk’s original leather is embossed with a fine gold pattern and has been preserved in its original, well-worn condition.
Stamped by Jean Baptiste Henry, who was admitted as a master craftsman on January 4, 1777, and practiced on Rue Saint Nicolas in Paris.
A working key is provided for the drawers; the varnish is in generally good condition with minor signs of wear
