Louis XVI Style Mahogany Bonheur Du Jour With Glazed Upper Section
A Louis XVI period "Bonheur du Jour" desk in solid and veneered mahogany. The upper section features two glazed doors and three drawers, one of which has a writing compartment. The whole is surmounted by a white marble slab encircled by an original openwork bronze gallery. The writing surface consists of a drop-front, covered in red leather tooled in gold, and opens with a single drawer in the frieze. The sides are molded with flat bands in the solid mahogany.
