Louis XVI-style Mahogany Drop-leaf Desk, Circa 1800
A Louis XVI-style mahogany drop-leaf desk, resting on tapered square legs fitted with bronze feet and featuring five drawers beneath the writing surface. The sliding top allows the quarter-cylinder drum located above it to be opened. The upper section features another row of three drawers topped by a decorative gallery. The interior is organized with small drawers and central compartments designed for letters. The central compartment is removable and conceals six secret drawers. The top is covered in leather. The rosettes and drawer handles are made of brass. The desk has been professionally restored and hand-polished. Maximum depth: 97 cm.
