A biscuit porcelain statuette depicting a nude woman seated on a rock, modeled after the Italian sculptor Raphael Nannini.
Engraved on the back: “d’après Nanini,” an apocryphal Sèvres mark, and numbered “No. 78” on the base.
Raphaël Nannini (19th–20th century) was born in Florence. He worked as a sculptor in his hometown and created bronze and ivory figures for French companies such as Les Neveux de J. Lehman and Edmond Etling in the early 20th century. He also exhibited at the Paris Salon.
