Wax bas-relief sculpted on a painted glass plate. The scene depicts a young nude woman (likely a Vestal Virgin) near a perfume burner. To the right, a small perfume burner emits wisps of bluish smoke that spiral upwards. Signed lower left, L. Baffet, and on the back, with the inscription "Salon des humoristes" and the price at the time: 200 gold francs. Louise Baffet, born in Paris, was a French artist who exhibited in 1907 at the Salon of the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts at the Grand Palais. A beautiful and rare example of a wax sculpture, from the period and in the Art Nouveau or Nouille style. The piece is protected by glass and a frame. Dimensions: 11.8 x 16.8 cm (framed).
