Important Mahogany Desk, Directoire Period - Early 19th Century

Mid-Directoire desk in mahogany veneer with a narrow drawer in the center, veneered in developed burr mahogany. This is pulled using a key fitted with its posterior bronze entry. The original lock is in working order. On each side this piece of furniture has other drawers: two on the left side and one very deep on the right side. The latter simulates two drawers on the front and has inside, a cash drawer with coin compartment and lockable chest. The keys are fitted and the original locks are in working order. This all-sided desk rests on four covered legs ending in brass shoes. The mahogany top is covered in leather in three parts, centered on the drawers, with cold vignette, gold vignette and small corners. On each side of this desk we find zippers trimmed with leather, pulled by small brass rings.
