The work was published by Jacques Necker, Director General of Finance under Louis XVI, to explain the fiscal and financial workings of the kingdom at the end of the Ancien Régime.
Complete set comprising the following:
Volume 1: VI–CLIX–354 pages, with errata and a fold-out statistical table.
Volume 2: VII–536 pages, with a supplement and errata.
Volume 3: VIII–468 pages with general tables and errata.
All three volumes are preserved in paperback format under their original slipcases made of marbled paper with a red floral design.
Significant signs of wear: covers and spines are brittle, with creases and small tears, as well as stains and old marks.
The set is nevertheless complete.
