Exceptional Pair Of Gilded Bronze Wall Sconces, Regency Style

Rare set of two pairs of gilded bronze wall sconces – Late 18th / early 19th century

A remarkable set of two pairs of gilded bronze wall sconces, dating from the late 18th century – early 19th century, comprising four identical sconces.

These elegant sconces are particularly distinguished by the richness and depth of their chiseled decoration. The bronze work is of the highest quality, featuring particularly pronounced, deep, and vigorous chiseling that gives the decoration remarkable relief and a genuine sense of texture.

Particular attention was paid to the floral motifs, whose petals and foliage are delicately sculpted and deeply chiseled. The floral motifs stand out with great depth, creating subtle plays of light and shadow on the gilded bronze.

The domes, also richly crafted, feature deep and precise chiseling that gives rhythm to the entire composition. This particularly bold treatment of the decoration lends the wall sconces a rare presence and quality of craftsmanship.

The elegance of their design, combined with the finesse of the chisel work, attests to the craftsmanship of the bronze artists of the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

The pairing of two perfectly identical sets is particularly appealing and allows for a symmetrical display in a refined interior: a living room, gallery, entryway, library, historic residence, or on either side of a mirror or a work of art.

Each sconce has a wiring outlet, allowing them to be electrified if the buyer wishes to restore their function as light fixtures.

A particularly decorative set, notable for the depth of its chiseling, the richness of its floral decoration, and the quality of the craftsmanship on its domes.
