"Pair Of Candelabra In Polychrome Porcelain And Gilt Bronze"
Pair of Polychrome Porcelain and Gilt Bronze Candelabra, Late 19th – Early 20th Century. This highly decorative pair of polychrome porcelain and gilt bronze candelabra dates from the late 19th or very early 20th century. Each candelabra is adorned with a finely modeled green porcelain parrot perched on a naturalistic trunk embellished with polychrome flowers in relief. The gilt bronze candle arms, chased in the form of leafy and flowering branches, extend harmoniously around the central figure and support several candle cups decorated with foliage. The richly crafted, undulating gilt bronze bases ensure excellent stability and emphasize the elegance of the whole. The decoration, inspired by nature and in the Japonisme style, is characteristic of decorative productions of the late 19th century, highly prized during the late Napoleon III period and the Belle Époque. In excellent overall condition, with well-preserved porcelain, fresh polychromy, and still-luminous gilding. A superb pair of candelabra with a naturalistic and exotic design, combining the delicacy of polychrome porcelain with the brilliance of gilt bronze. A rare and refined decorative piece, ideal for enhancing a classic or eclectic interior.
