An elegant Directoire-style walnut desk, made around 1900, which exquisitely captures the neoclassical style of the late 18th century.

Rectangular in shape, it features a beautiful walnut top, whose grain and warm patina particularly highlight the quality of the wood.

The front features three drawers arranged in a row. The central drawer is accented by an elegant band of molding forming a diamond shape, while the two side drawers are adorned with carved rosettes, themselves framed by geometric moldings. This understated decorative work lends the piece a great deal of character without weighing down its silhouette.

The piece rests on four tapered, turned legs accented with rings, directly inspired by Directoire-era designs.

The proportions are particularly harmonious, allowing this desk to be placed in the center of a room. The walnut has a lovely light hue and a warm patina.

A beautiful, decorative, and functional desk, meticulously crafted, representative of the revival of the Directoire style at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
