Vietnam: Art Of Annam, Lê Dynasty, Ca. 15th–16th Century, Blue-and-white Ceramic Jarlet

A rare small globular jar (jarlet) made of blue-and-white Annamite ceramic from Vietnam, dating from the Lê Dynasty, specifically the late 15th or early 16th century, and originating from the famous Chu Dậu kilns.
This small, utilitarian flask features a cobalt-blue underglaze painted decoration, embellished with a stylized frieze of lotus petals radiating around the neck and floral panels on the body.
The piece is characterized by a charming network of natural craquelure and an authentic patina.
The most rounded part of the body shows signs of wear and friction from its time, which have locally abraded the glaze, revealing the bare cobalt and thus confirming its age and history.
Regarding its condition, note that the neck has been restored, as visible in the photos included in the description.
The base features a short, unglazed foot that reveals beige stoneware typical of local productions from this period.
From the same family collection as the rouge pot currently for sale elsewhere, it was acquired from an antique dealer in Vietnam in the 1950s and brought back to France during that period, guaranteeing its authenticity and ruling out the possibility that it came from a shipwreck.
