Metal Vase, Embossed And Inlaid With Stones. Tibet, 18th Century Or Earlier.
Vase made of repoussé copper alloy, inlaid with semiprecious stones, almost all of which are now missing. Some white jade and turquoise stones remain. The decoration depicts Zipak, surrounded by plant scrollwork; in the background, a double Vajra can be seen. The entire piece is very finely chiseled. Tibetan work from the 18th century or earlier. At a later date, the vase was converted into a lamp in Europe. It was drilled, and a lid was added. Excellent quality. Height: 20 cm.
