China, Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534 AD), a delicate small portable Buddhist altar mounted on four feet and decorated with a standing statue of the Bodhisattva Padpani holding a gourd in his left hand and leaning against a pointed halo. This gilt bronze displays a partially crusted green patina. Dimensions: Height: 8.5 cm. Good condition except for some minor gilding loss, which does not detract from the piece's aesthetic appeal.
