Modernist Coffee Table Made Of Blue-gray Glazed Ceramic With A Bird Motif; 1960s

This rectangular coffee table from the 1960s embodies the modernist spirit and the mid-20th-century revival of ceramic art.
Its tabletop features a carefully designed graphic composition forming an asymmetrical checkerboard pattern. It alternates between solid, textured blue-gray tiles and tiles adorned with a poetic motif of stylized birds.
The contrast between the matte, mineral-like background and the glossy glazed areas with brown-ochre and metallic hues highlights the birds’ silhouettes.

It is in excellent condition: The ceramic tray is flawless, showing no cracks or surface imperfections whatsoever. Please note that certain touches of patina originally applied during the ceramic manufacturing process may appear as defects in photographs, though this is not the case.

The extremely sturdy matte black metal frame is also very well preserved. It is secured by numerous round-head screws to a blackened plywood base that supports the ceramic pieces.
