Biedermeier Revolving-top Occasional Table, Walnut, C. 1825

Round Biedermeier side table with unusual construction. The body is walnut veneered.

The top features a twelve-fold mirrored veneer pattern: Twelve segments radiate towards the center, with each opposing pair laid as a mirror image. The grain thus creates a continuous, symmetrical star pattern across the entire surface.

The upper part is rotatable. The body contains three drawers and two side pull-outs, which are accessible from any side due to the rotatability. The pull-outs are divided into compartments inside.

Three curved legs support the body and are held in the lower part by a triangular traverse, whose surface shows a three-fold mirrored walnut veneer and repeats the principle of the top on a smaller scale.

The table has been professionally restored, the shellac has been renewed. The table is ready for use.
