Léon Pointu (1879-1942), son of the ceramist Jean Pointu (1843-1925), trained in the family studio before developing a distinctive personal production in Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye. From the 1920s, his shapes became more geometric and his glazes became more assertive. He is especially noted for his controlled drip glazes.
