Art Nouveau Valance, 1900, Crocheted Filet Lace + Grape Appliqués, L = 140 Cm
For the top of a door, window, or bed, a lovely vintage valance from around 1900, in the Art Nouveau style.
Crocheted filet lace with appliquéd "copper-colored" satin thread puffs, as well as crocheted vine leaves and grape clusters.
Three sides are adorned with thread tassels (two are slightly “worn,” but all are present).
In very good overall condition, with small, barely visible snags and slight reddish-ochre stains on one vine leaf (see photos).
