- The Escape: The captain decided to set sail to prevent the dredger from falling into enemy hands. [1]
- The passengers: The ship took on board 49 refugees, including a core group of 40 residents of Ouistreham (young local fishermen and civilians) as well as workers from the Macario shipyard in Trouville.
- The crossing: Initially planning to seek refuge in Brest, the ship changed course in the face of the German advance and crossed the English Channel, setting a course for England. It reached the port of Plymouth on June 20, 1940. [1, 2]
